Biography:

Perry is a retired language arts teacher/counselor who is currently from Jackson, Tennessee.  His poetry and prose has been published as a teacher consultant of the National Writing Project and has appeared in other publications.  He grew up in Shelby County, Tennessee near Memphis and has two degrees from the University of Memphis, and post Masters work from Bethel University and The University of Tennessee at Martin.  Although much of his youth was spent in rural settings, his perspectives have broadened to encompass broader, historical issues reflective in his work.

Perry is insistent on recording the history correctly in his work and especially his characters, not necessarily in a "politically correct" way.  His characters and themes often reflect the notion that one's reality is determined by what one perceives to be truth.
